It’s always good to reflect back on your older work. As a photographer it’s good to think “how can I improve” and “what can I do better?”, it’s a great reminder of how far you’ve come, you’re further than you were yesterday and you’re closer to reaching your goals.

I had a browse through my older work when I was looking at how I can improve and found this series of photographs I did with Tommy’s Hair back when I was still a student in my third year of university. I looked at these photographs with fresh eyes and had the urge to re-edit.

The theme for this photo shoot was fairytales, looks were based off Snow White, Cinderella and Belle. Here’s what the team created…

Snow White had classical, retro vibes with her do, a sleek updo for her raven black hair, then soft, romatic curls with an extravagant flower crown to finish the look. Notice the apples in the bouquet?
Cinderella had more hints of bohemia with her hairstyle. Big, blonde waves with small plaits and a dainty flower crown created a beautiful look ideal for a laidback, summer wedding.
Belle had an elegant, yet complicated updo. Just look at the structure of the plaits in the back of her hairstyle! Finished off with small, delicate pink roses to compliment her shade of brunette.
This was such a great day, I remember it as if it were yesterday and I can’t quite comprehend that this was shot two years ago! You can view more of this photo series here. I’m so excited for photo projects I have lined up this year, I can’t wait to get creating and get sharing!

I hope you’re all having a great start to 2017!
