Not so long ago, we were treated with snow – if you know me well enough, you know that I:

A) Love Christmas
B) Absolutely LOVE snow!
C) One of my top 5 favourite Christmas songs is White Christmas by Bing Crosby…

I had the warmest, fuzziest feeling seeing the snow fall down and lay on top of the Welsh landscapes. And then the ultimate feeling of excitement realising this was happening during Christmas time. So listening to Christmas music, and a certain song by Bing Crosby – I was as excitable as Buddy the Elf!

This meant it was the perfect excuse to get the camera out to take some wintery landscapes, experiment with still life, and also organise a last minute photo shoot before the snow disappeared.

I met up with my beautiful friend, Sophie. We went to Secret Garden Party together this year, but we go way back. Back in School we were both awkward, arty teenagers who became super close when we left school and went to study Art and Design in college. Sophie has been my guinea pig a few times over the years when it comes to photography, and I am happy to report that I haven’t put her off being my model by asking her to wear a dress in the snow!

We drove up to Llyn Brenig – possibly one of my favourite places, I knew it would look beautiful in the snow and the snow can get very deep in the Denbigh Moors. We started off with some casual portraits in what Sophie turned up wearing.

We then got Sophie into something a little more glamorous. When I was putting this last minute photo shoot together, I had this dress ready for a fashion shoot I’ve been planning – and couldn’t resist using it in the snow!
I was loving trying out techniques and having a play around with different objects to shoot through.

I hope you like these wintery portraits, it was a quick photo shoot, but we had a fun afternoon shooting together!

I also hope you have a lovely Christmas tomorrow, I’ve been so excited for the Christmas festivities to begin! I’m looking forward to a lovely day tomorrow, and the other days that will follow afterwards. This has truly been an amazing year and this Christmas has been awesome so far – the perfect way to say goodbye to 2017.

Lots of Christmassy love,

Amelia xoxo
